Abbey Outbuildings.... by quaddie Abbey Outbuildings.... by quaddie
This is from a recent trip to Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire UK.([link]).

Fountains Abbey is near to Aldfield, approximately two miles southwest of Ripon in North Yorkshire, England. It is a ruined Cistercian monastery, founded in 1132. Fountains Abbey is one of the largest and best preserved Cistercian houses in England.

This is the view, looking East,of the remarkably well preserved remains of the Abbey.

Lovely! I've been there many a time, though it's been years.

I spent three years in Pateley Bridge, a stone's throw from Fountains Abbey (back in the 80s), and I absolutely loved it! In fact, the Wainwright coast-to-coast walk remains at the top of my bucket list if I can only save up enough pennies. :-)
