Wow, sounds great to me. We have a little display at the British Wildlife Centre but it's not so spectacular, they just fly short distances between stands, it's very small and tame.

Definitely looks like they are. I wish they lived in my area. But we have plenty of white-tailed kites in the area and they're awesome, too C:

A really nice shot. One question: Where can one take such wildlife photos with only 260mm?

Thank you so much Daniel, this was taken during a display at banham zoo in the UK...many of the birds they fly do not have jesses, which is nice for the resuling shots, hence my Nikon 70-300mm VR is nice for the job :).

Wow, I've never heard from a falconry that flys there birds without jesses (is thats the english word for the leather straps? Could never find a translation for the german "Geschüh").

I think I have to visit UK for a weekend. What other birds do they have?

Oh yes, the 70-300 VR is a great lens, it was also my first lens :)

It depends on which birds they are flying, the Black Kites ,the Vultures ,African Harrier Hawk and a Eurasian Eagle Owl that is being trained up all fly without jesses (yep, thats the English word :)),i thing they are all imprinted birds so dont actually know they are birds :),they all have trackers fitted though...just in case .
I will give you a couple of liks so you can have a look [link] [link]
